Pausing our In This Together Campaign
At Firstfruits Farm SLO, we renounce the ranking of human value (read our full statement), and we are pausing our fundraising campaign to stand in solidarity with farmers and community organizers who are building up Black Leaders in agriculture.
If you were considering donating to our campaign, we encourage you to instead donate to one or more of these amazing organizations because we truly are
In This Together!
The mission of Farms to Grow in Oakland, California is to promote the sustainability and legacy of Black farmers as well as sprout the next generation of small farmers.
The cleverly named Phat Beets Produce exists to create a healthier, more equitable food system in Oakland and beyond by providing affordable access to fresh produce, facilitating youth leadership in health and nutrition education, and connecting small farmers to urban communities via the creation a CSA, community farm stands, markets, and youth entrepreneurship.
Planting Justice is a grassroots organization with a mission to empower people impacted by mass incarceration and other social inequities with the skills and resources to cultivate food sovereignty, economic justice, and community healing.
We will resume our fundraising efforts later this year, and we know that y'all will be ready to support us.
